Metrea Management is Hiring a Facility Security Officer Near Annapolis, MD

Position Summary 

Metrea, a leading federal contractor, is seeking an experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to join our team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate will oversee and ensure the security of our facilities, including the management of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), building security, and monitoring. This position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with a full scope polygraph.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the construction and accreditation of SCIFs, ensuring compliance with federal security standards and regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor security policies and procedures to protect sensitive information and physical assets.
  • Manage and conduct security briefings, debriefings, and security awareness training for all personnel.
  • Process and maintain personnel security clearances through Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and Scattered Castles.
  • Coordinate with government agencies to facilitate inspections, security assessments, and audits.
  • Respond to security incidents and violations; conduct investigations and prepare reports for management and federal oversight bodies.
  • Advise on security considerations for new projects, technologies, and systems integration.
  • Ensure physical security measures, including access control systems and surveillance equipment, are in place and functioning effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with a full scope polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field (preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in facility security, including direct experience with SCIF builds, building security, monitoring, and managing clearances.
  • Familiarity with federal security regulations, including National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and Department of Defense (DoD) standards.
  • Proficient in the use of DISS and Scattered Castles for clearance processing and verification.
  • Intimate knowledge of the Fort Meade area customers and all security practices there in.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to respond promptly to security alerts and emergencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting security risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
